How to Prevent Premature Aging of Your Face


External factors from your lifestyle and environment play a huge role in how quickly your face begins to show the signs of your age. Here are some of the top contributing factors to premature aging of your face, along with how to avoid them and keep your skin looking young longer.
1.Smoking. Exposure to cigarette smoke, whether from your own smoke or second-hand, will increase wrinkling and dryness of the skin. This is partly because smoking depletes your body’s vitamin C, which is necessary for young-looking skin. Some researchers even say that cigarette smoke is just as bad for your skin as ultraviolet rays from the sun.
2. Sun Exposure. Too much exposure to the sun is well known to cause wrinkling, premature aging and even cancer of the skin. You may develop brown sunspots or the skin can take on a dry, leathery appearance. While some researchers are now pointing out that some sensible sun exposure can indeed be healthy, to protect your face you should:
Wear a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher, year-round.
Avoid exposing your face to the sun during its strongest hours, from about 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses when you’re out in the sun for an extended period of time.
3. Poor Diet. A poor diet is a source of facial aging (and overall aging) from the inside out. Without the proper fuel, your body does not have the nutrients it needs to even function properly, let alone devote to keeping your skin firm, moist and blemish-free. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables, on the other hand, will provide you with plenty of antioxidants that will help to protect your skin and overall health.
4. Not Enough Exercise. Exercise tones muscles and helps promote blood flow — necessary for healthy skin and body.
5. Too Much Stress. Anyone who’s been through an extremely stressful event knows how it seems to show up all over your body, including on your face in dark circles under your eyes, dull skin and new wrinkles. Managing your stress, along with getting enough sleep, is key to retaining a youthful face.
6. Exposure to Cold. If you’re outside in the elements — cold temperatures, wind, etc. — your face will show it. Too much cold can easily suck the moisture right out of your face, leading to dry, irritated patches. To prevent this, protect your face with a scarf when you’re outside and invest in a natural facial
moisturizer.
7. Excess Alcohol. Over time, alcohol can permanently damage blood vessels in the skin, causing you to appear flushed. Broken blood vessels may also appear near your skin’s surface. Not sure how much alcohol is too much? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) define heavy drinking as more than one drink a day for women and more than two drinks a day for men.

Almonds, pistachios and walnuts also provide a nice supply of omega-3 fatty acids, another great skin nutrient.

4 Basic Skin Care Needs


There’s tried-and-true ways to properly care for your skin, from the right way to cleanse your face, to the best moisturizers and sunscreens.
Before we start with the proper daily 4-step skincare routine, you’ll need to know your skin type. How you care for your skin is utterly dependent on the type of skin you have: oily, normal/combination, dry, sensitive or sun- damaged. Find out what skin type you have.
The Basic 4-Step Skincare Regimen
Step 1: Cleansing

Simple is key here. You need to find a good cleanser that your skin responds well to, and stick with it. See the best cleansers for your skin type.
You can find a good cleanser at the drugstore. There’s no need to spend $40 on a fancy wash. Avoid bar soaps as they tend to dry out the skin. According to Rona Berg, in her book, “Beauty,” a French cosmetics executive once told her, “Soap should only ever touch your skin from the neck down.” We agree. Choose a creamy cleanser if you have dry skin or a clear cleanser if you have oily skin.
Be careful not to cleanse too often. Washing at night should do you. If you have dry skin, consider cold cream like Pond’s, which the French use. Simply apply cream, then wipe off, no water needed (if you have hard water it can be especially harsh on skin). Most women prefer the water method: Use warm water to loosen dirt and clogged pores. Use a dime-sized bit of cleanser, then rinse with cool or lukewarm water. You’ll also want to take off your makeup with a proper makeup remover.
In the morning, a splash of lukewarm water is all you need (we find it’s great for removing excess oils from your nightly moisturizing). Never wash your face with hot or cold water (both can cause broken capillaries). Also be careful about overcleansing skin, see signs you are overcleansing your skin.
Step 2: Exfoliate
Exfoliation is the step most people skip in their weekly skincare routine. But trust me, if you start properly exfoliating your skin, you will notice an almost immediate difference. According to Berg, one of the reasons men’s skin looks more youthful than women’s is because men tend to exfoliate daily when they shave. There are several ways to exfoliate skin: Microdermabrasion, chemical peels and retinoids.
Scrubs work by removing the top layer of dead skin cells that tend to dull your complexion. We find exfoliating skin once a week with a microdermabrasion kit keeps skin glowing year-round. Make sure you use a gentle scrub with tiny grains. Big grains in cheap scrubs can tear skin and cause more harm than good. My favorite microdermabrasion kit is made by Lancome.
In the hour it takes to get a chemical peel, you can take off five years from your face. Can’t afford the price tag for a monthly peel? Try some over-the-counter peels that work over the course of a month. I prefer MD Skincare’s.
Retinoids (such as Retin-A or the more moisturizing Renova) also work by removing the top layer of dead skin cells while also generating collagen in the skin. “Collagen is the skin’s structural fiber,” dermatologist Dennis Gross said in O Magazine. “As we get older, it breaks down, creating lines and large pores.” Skincare experts disagree on all sorts of things, but most of them consider retinoids to be a miracle skin saver. I’m addicted to Retin-A, which I pick up in Mexico on my yearly jaunts.
Should you use a toner? Some people swear by toners, but many beauty experts do not (I once read a skincare expert claim, “toners are only for copy machines”). Toners are meant to remove all remaining traces of oil, makeup and dirt, but a good cleanser should do this. I firmly believe it’s up to you. If you like the way your skin feels with a toner. Buy it. Use it. Enjoy it.
Step 3: Moisturize
While I know of at least one famous beauty editor who swore skin doesn’t need moisturizer, basically everyone else I’ve read disagrees and is an adamant believer in it. A basic law of beauty is that everyone, no matter her skin type, should moisturize. Even if your skin is oily, it will benefit from moisturizers. (The only exception is those with acne). Why? Moisturizers seal moisture into skin (Berg calls this the “Saran Wrap effect”). So how much should you moisturize? Your skin will tell you. When your skin is tight, it’s crying out for moisture. Be careful not to overmoisturize — this can clog pores.
Are eye creams necessary? Well maybe. Some beauty experts strongly recommend eye creams. Why? The skin around the eye contains no fatty tissue and is therefore very thin and susceptible to wrinkles. Special eye creams are formulated to “thicken” this area. Yet other experts (including the beauty editors of Allure in their new book) claim your daily lotion works around the eyes just as well.
Step 4: Apply Sunscreen
O Magazine ran an article featuring interviews with several top skin care experts and dermatologists (check it out here). Every single one of them said sunscreen was the most important part of your skincare regimen. It was the secret they would pass on to their daughters.
The number-1 cause of wrinkles is sun damage, so it’s important to use sunscreen from your early years on even in winter and on cloudy days. A great trick is to purchase two moisturizers: One for night and one for day that includes UV protection. Don’t use moisturizers with sunscreen at night, the ingredients are not meant to be used 27/7 and can aggravate skin. When choosing a sunscreen, make sure it contains Mexoryl (found in my favorite sunscreen La-Roche Posay) or Helioplex, found in Neutrogena products.

IKHLASLAH DALAM SESUATU PEKERJAAN

Allah berfirman dalam S.Al Bayyinah : 5;
"Dan tidaklah mereka diperintahkan kecuali agar mereka beribadah kepada
Allah dengan mengikhlaskan agama kepada-Nya, secara hanif."
" Allah tidak menerima amal, kecuali yang dikerjakan dengan ikhlas karena
Dia semata, dan dimaksudkan untuk mencari ridho-Nya." ( HR. Ibnu Majah ). Masih melekat dalam ingatan kita mengenai kisah 3 pemuda yang
terperangkap dalam gua yang digunakan untuk berteduh.
Salah seorang diantara mereka berkata, "Sungguh tidak ada yang dapat
menyelamatkan kalian dari bahaya ini, kecuali jika kalian berdo'a kepada
Allah SWT dengan menyebutkan amal -amal shalih yang pernah kalian
perbuat".
Maka bermunajatlah mereka:
Seorang dari mereka berdoa: "Ya Allah, aku memepunyai orang tua yang sudah
renta, kebiasaanku, mendahulukan mereka minum susu sebelum aku berikan
kepada anak istriku dan budakku. Suatu hari, aku pergi mencari kayu bakar
dan pulang terlambat sampai keduana tertidur. Maka akupun memerah susu
utnuk persediaan minum keduanya. Aku pun enggan untuk membangunkannya.
Meskipin demikian aku tidak memberikan susu tsb kepada keluargaku/budakku
sebelum keduanya minum. Aku menunggu keduanya terbangun hingga terbit
fajar, sedangkan anak-anakku menangis tersisak-isak meminta susu sambil
memegangi kakiku. Ketika keduanya terbangun, kuberikan susu itu".
"Ya Allah jika engkau jika aku berbuat itu karena mengharap ridha-Mu, maka
geserkanlah batu yang menutupi gua ini". Kemudian bergeserlah sedikit batu
itu, namun mereka belum bisa keluar.
Orang kedua melanjutkan doanya: "Ya ALlah, sesunggguhnya aku memepunyai
saudara sepupu yang aku cintai.Aku selalu ingin berbuat zina dengannya,
tetapi ia selalu menolaknya. Beberapa tahun kemudian , ia tertimpa
kesulitan. Ia pun datang untuk meminta bantuanku dan aku berikan 120 dinar
dengan syarat menyerahkan dirinya kapan saja aku mau. Sehingga suatu hari
aku memliki kesempatan dengannya ia berkata, 'Takutlah kamu kepada ALlah.
Janganlah kamu sobek darahku kecuali dengan jalan yang benar (nikah)'.
Mendengar yang demikian aku meninggalkannya dan merelakan emas yang aku
berikan, padahal dia adalah yang sangat aku cintai. "Ya Allah, jika
perbuatan itu karena mengaharap ridha-Mu, maka geserkanlah batu yang
menimpa gua ini". Kemudian bergeser, namun belum bisa juga keluar.
Orang yang ketiga melanjutkan doanya:"Ya Allah, aku mempekerjakan beberapa karyawan dan digaji dengan sempurna, kecuali ada seseorang yang
meninggalkan aku dan tidak mau mengambil gajinya terlebih dahulu. Kemudian
gaji itu aku kembangkan sehingga menjadi banyak. Selang beberpa tahun dia
datang dan berkata, berikanlah gajiku. Aku berkata,'Semua yang kamu lihat
baik unta, sapi, kambing maupun budak yang menggembalanya, semuanya
gajimu'. kemudian diapun mengambil semuanya itu dan tidak meninggalkannya
sedikitpun. "Ya Allah jika perbuatan itu demi mengharap ridha-Mu, maka
singkirkanlah batu yang menutupi gua ini".
Kemudian bergeserlah batu tsb dan mereka bisa keluar."
Dari hadits dan kisah diatas membuktikan bahwa Allah hanya menerima amal
yang didasari oleh ikhlas semata karena-Nya.
Dr. Ahmad Farid memberikan pengertian ikhlas yaitu ; membersihkan maksud
dan motivasi bertaqarrub kepada Allah dari berbagai maksud dan niat lain.
Atau mengesakan hanya Allah-lah sebagai tujuan dalam berbuat kebajikan,
yaitu dengan menjauhi dan mengabaikan pandangan mahluk serta tujuan
keduniaan dan senantiasa berkonsentrasi kepada Allah semata.
Sedangkan Ibnu Alwy memberikan batasan pengertian seorang Mukhlis (orang
ikhlas) yaitu apabila ia melakukan ataupun meninggalkan sesuatu perbuatan,
baik dalam sunyi ataupun banyak orang tetap menyandarkan tujuannya hanya
kepada Allah, tanpa mencampuradukkan dengan maksud lain, misalnya karena
hawa nafsu atau keduniaan (harta, tahta, wanita). Dan jika dia berniat
disamping Allah juga karena manusia, maka dia termasuk Riya yaitu orang
yang berbuat riya dan amalnya tidak akan diterima. Apabila dia beramal
karena manusia semata, maka dia telah terjerumus ke dalam kebinasaan dan
riyanya telah mencapai tingkat Munafiq. Na'udzubillahi min dzalik.
Maka sifat keikhlasan patut dipelihara dari sifat-sifat yang mengotorinya
seperti riya., ujub (merasa bangga akan perbuatannya), takabbur bahkan
syirik sekecil apapun.
Rasulullah SAW mengingatkan ummatnya mengenai syirik ini. Sabdanya:
"Sesungguhnya yang paling aku khawatirkan menimpa kamu sekalian ialah
syirik yang paling kecil." Para shahabat bertanya; "Apakah yang disebut
syirik yang paling kecil itu ?" Beliau menjawab; "Riya", Allah berfirman
pada Hari Kiamat ketika memberikan balasan terhadap manusia menurut
perbuatannya: "Pergilah kamu sekalian kepada sesuatu yang dijadikan tempat
memperlihatkan amal kamu di dunia, maka tunggulah apakah kamu menerima
balasan dari mereka itu."(HR Ahmad)
Sebagai upaya membina terwujudnya keikhlasan yang mantap dalam hati setiap
mukmin, sudah selayaknya kita memperhatikan beberapa hal yang dapat
memelihara ikhlas dari penyakit-penyakit hati yang selalu mengintai kita,
di antaranya:
Pertama, dengan meyakini bahwa setiap amal yang kita perbuat, baik lahir
maupun batin, sekecil apapun, selalu dilihat dan didengar Allah SWT dan
kelak Dia memperlihatkan seluruh gerakan dan bisikan hati tanpa ada yang
terlewatkan. Kemudian kita menerima balasan atas perbuatan-perbuatan tadi.
Firman Allah dalam S Al-Zalzalah 7-8:
" Barangsiapa yang mengerjakan kebaikan seberat dzarrahpun, niscaya dia
akan melihat (balasan)nya. Dan barangsiapa yang mengerjakan kejahatan
sebesar dzarrahpun, niscaya dia akan melihat (balasan)nya pula" .
Dan yang sering tidak kita sadari adalah penyimpangan niat dari ikhlas
lillahi Ta'ala menjadi riya. Dalam hadis Qudsi dikemukakan: "Kelak pada
Hari Kiamat akan didatangkan beberapa buku catatan amal yang telah
disegel. Lalu dihadapkan kepada Allah SWT tetapi kemudian Dia berfirman:
"Buanglah semua buku-buku ini !" Malaikatpun berkata: "Demi kekuasaan-Mu,
kami tidak melihat didalamnya selain kebaikannya saja." Lalu Allah
berfirman; "Sesungguhnya amalan yang memenuhinya dilakukan bukan karena
Aku, dan Aku tidak menerima kecuali apa yang dilakukan karena mencari
keridlaan-Ku."
Kedua, memahami makna dan hakikat ikhlas serta meluruskan niat dalam
beribadah hanya kepada Allah dan mencari keridlaan-Nya semata, setelah
yakin perbuatan kita sejalan dengan ketentuan Allah dan Rasul-Nya. Maka
ketika niat kita menyimpang dari keikhlasan, kembalikanlah kepada keimanan
dan ketaqwaan serta segeralah mensucikan diri dengan bertaubat dan
meluruskan kembali niat baik tadi. Firman Allah: "Kecuali orang-orang yang
bertaubat dan memperbaiki amal mereka serta berpegang teguh kepada agama
Allah dan tulus ikhlas mengerjakan agama mereka karena Allah, maka mereka
itu adalah bersama orang yang beriman dan kelak Allah memberikan kepada
orang yang beriman pahala yang besar."
Ketiga, Berusaha membersihkan hati dari sifat yang mengotorinya seperti
riya, nifaq atau bentuk syirik lainnya sekecil apapun. Allah berfirman:
"Barang siapa yang berharap menemui Rabb-nya, hendaklah ia mengerjakan
perbuatan baik dan janganlah mempersekutukan dalam beribadah kepada
Rabb-nya dengan sesuatu apapun.
"Kehati-hatian" ini sebagai cerminan sikap ikhlas kita, meskipun tidak
jarang kita khilaf dan menyimpang dari niat semula. Namun, dengan memahami
seluk beluk penyakit hati ini, diharapkan kita dapat mengambil sikap yang
benar.
Fudhail Bin `Iyadh mengatakan: "Meninggalkan amal karena manusia adalah
riya, sedang beramal karena manusia adalah syirik. Dan ikhlas adalah
menyelamatkanmu dari kedua penyakit tersebut."
Keempat, Memohon petunjuk kepada Allah agar menetapkan hati kita dalam
ikhlas. Karena hanya Dia-lah yang berkuasa menurunkan hidayah dan
menyelamatkan kita dari godaan syetan yang selalu menghembuskan kejahatan
yang dapat membinasakan manusia. Tidak sedikit manusia yang terjerumus
pada riya dan syirik yang tersembunyi, sebagaimana diperi-ngatkan dalam
Hadits Nabi SAW, sabdanya: "Barangsiapa yang shalat dengan riya,
sesungguhnya ia telah melakukan syirik, dan barang siapa yang shaum dengan
riya, sesungguhnya ia telah melakukan syirik, dan demikian juga,
barangsiapa yang bersedekah dengan riya sesungguhnya ia telah melakukan
syirik, karena Allah `azza wajalla berfirman (dalam Hadits Qudsi):
"Aku adalah penentu yang terbaik bagi orang yang telah menyekutukan
sesuatu de-ngan-Ku. Amal perbuatannya sedikit maupun banyak bagi yang
disekutukannya sedang Aku sama sekali tidak perlu padanya."
Maka, sudah menjadi kewajiban kita sebagai pribadi muslim untuk terus
memelihara keikhlasan dalam menjalankan ibadah kepada Allah SWT dan
menjauhkan diri dari sifat-sifat yang mengotorinya. Hanya kepada-Nyalah
kita berserah diri dan memohon petunjuk-Nya.
Ya Muqollib Al-Qulub, Tsabbit Quluubanaa `ala diiniKa, Ashbahnaa `ala
fitratil Islam Wa-kalimatil Ikhlash Wa `Ala dini Nabiyina Muhammad
Sallallau'alaihi wasallam, wa'alaa millati abiinaa Ibrahiima haniifaa,
wamaa kaanaa minal musyrikiin. "
(Ya Allah yang berkuasa membolak-balik-kan hati manusia, tetapkanlah hati
kami dalam agama. Jadikanlah kami dalam fitrah Islam dan teguhkanlah kami
dalam prinsip keikhlasan, berpegang teguh kepada agama Nabi kami, Muhammad
SAW, juga millah Ibrahim dengan setulus hati. Dan Ibrahim itu bukan dari
golongan orang musyriK).
